MBCredit Solutions closes two NPL deals with leading consumer credit market operators

Milan, 22 March 2021 - MBCredit Solutions, the Mediobanca Group company specializing in acquisition and management of non-performing loans, has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of fully litigated non-performing loans, and renewed a forward flow agreement for 2021, with two leading consumer credit market operators. The first deal involves the acquisition of a portfolio of unsecured retail receivables, fully litigated, for an aggregate nominal amount of some €33m, from a leading consumer credit operator with which MBCredit Solutions has not previously entered into agreements. The deal was made possible by the experience MBCredit Solutions has acquired in legal management allied to growth in the internal litigation platform, plus the fact that it was already one of the leading players in the sector for acquiring part-litigated portfolios. MBCredit Solutions has recently also renewed a forward flow agreement with another leading consumer credit sector operator for an aggregate nominal amount of approx. €100m. This deal consolidates the partnership inaugurated in 2020, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has continued in this challenging period helped by the ongoing dialogue with the seller and a business model that has proved effective even such a difficult reference scenario. With these deals MBCredit Solutions has confirmed its role as a leader in the Italian NPL acquisition market in the retail unsecured segment, and further enhanced its track record in forward flow transactions. “MBCredit Solutions has once again confirmed our analytical and pricing capabilities, as well as reiterating our strong interest in this type of rolling acquisition, our first experiences of which date back to more than fifteen years ago”, said Angelo Piazza, CEO of MBCredit Solutions.
